We love him for showing us how, in the midst of spiritual failure, we too can draw near to the Lord again in trust and devotion. Perfectionists will not be comfortable with David. Those who stumble often, but who always turn with melted hearts to God for pardon and help, will find in him a brother for all situations. Such people will love the sacred history of his life and find it totally engrossing."

As Bem-Aventuranças

Iniciaremos hoje um estudo sequencial sobre O sermao do Monte. Para iniciar estudaremos as Bem-Aventuranças, que se encontram no Evangelho de Mates capítulo 5, que são as primeiras palavras de Jesus no Sermão do Monte.
As Bem-Aventuranças são promessas feitas aos discípulos fiéis do Reino dos Céus.
Há pelo menos 4 considerações sobre as bem-aventuranças:
1) São um código de ética para os discípulos e para um padrão de conduta para todos os cristãos
2) Contrastam os valores do Reino, que é eterno, com os terrenos, que são temporários
3) Contrastam a fé superficial dos fariseus com a fé real que Cristo exige
4) Demonstram que as expectativas do AT cumprir-se-ão no novo Reino
As Bem-Aventuranças não nos permite escolher aquelas que nos agradam e desprezar as demais; devem ser consideradas como um todo, pois relacionam o que nós enfrentamos e como devemos agir como seguidores de Cristo.
